The Airgo Comfort-Plus is an offset walking cane fitted with a MiniQuad tip, which sets four small feet on a base roughly the footprint of a standard single cane tip. That is the point of the design: four points of ground contact without the wide base that catches on door frames, furniture legs and the edges of steps, at 54 per cent lighter and 80 per cent more compact than a large base quad. The tip self-centres as the cane is set down, and holds the cane upright on its own so it need not be hooked over a chair or laid on the floor between uses. The handle is an offset shape with a cushioned top that spreads pressure across the palm, with rubber surrounds that let the cane rest against a wall or table. 

A standard quad cane buys its stability at the cost of a base that snags on door frames and will not sit flush on the edge of a step. The MiniQuad tip keeps four points of contact on close to a single-tip footprint, which is the compromise most people are actually after. That it stands up by itself also removes the small daily nuisance of finding somewhere to put the cane down.
