The Alrick P5500W is an electrically adjustable bed for home and community care, available in Single and King Single widths. A simple hand control raises and lowers the whole bed, from 29.5 cm up to 70 cm in the Single and up to 74 cm in the King Single, and adjusts the backrest and knee break so the user can sit up to read or be assisted. Electric Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg tilt the sleeping surface as a whole where positioning requires it. The sleeping surface measures 200 cm by 90 cm in the Single and 200 cm by 105 cm in the King Single, with overall footprints of 93 cm and 107 cm by 219 cm. The ironstone powder coated steel frame pulls apart using a slot and pin system, has a safe working load of 200 kg, and runs on four 10 cm braking castors.

Powered height adjustment across a wide range allows the bed to sit low for a safer transfer and to rise to a comfortable working height for carers and visiting clinicians, which reduces bending during personal care. The pull apart frame matters in practice as well, since the bed can be carried through narrow doorways and stairwells in sections and assembled on site.
