The Care Quip Bath Transfer Bench Padded spans the wall of a bath so that part of the seat sits outside the bath and part inside. The user sits on the outer section, then slides across the bench and brings the legs over the bath wall, which removes the need to step over the rim or lower to the floor of the bath. The seat is padded in three sections and the gaps between them let water drain away from the seating area, while a curved backrest supports the trunk during washing. The aluminium frame is height adjustable from 45.5 to 56.5 cm, so the seat can be levelled to the bath. An integrated grab rail is supplied on either the left or the right side, specified when ordering. The seat measures 59 cm wide by 40 cm deep and is rated to 130 kg.

Two things make this bench worth considering. It removes the step over the bath rim, which is the movement most people find hardest, and it does so on a padded, supported seat rather than a bare frame, which matters when washing takes time.
