The Care Quip Bath Transfer Bench Plastic bridges the wall of a bath, with part of the seat outside the bath and part inside, so that the user can sit down outside the bath and slide across rather than stepping over the rim or lowering to the bath floor. The seating surface is a textured plastic moulding with holes through it, so water runs away from the seat instead of collecting under the user. A curved backrest gives added support while washing, and an integrated grab rail with a soap dish is supplied on either the left or the right side, specified when the bench is ordered. The aluminium frame is height adjustable from 45 to 56.5 cm so the bench can be levelled across the bath. The seat measures 80 cm wide by 37 cm deep and is rated to 130 kg.

The appeal of the plastic version is a firm, unupholstered seat on a wide span. An 80 cm surface reaches well across the bath, so the transfer can be made in stages rather than in one movement, and the rail and soap dish put a handhold and the soap on whichever side suits the bathroom. Height adjustment lets the bench sit level on baths of differing heights.
