The Hero Medical Deluxe Bedside Commode is a toilet chair for use beside the bed where reaching the bathroom is difficult, particularly at night. The padded seat slides aside to give access to a removable bowl fitted with a lid and a splashguard, which is emptied into the toilet and cleaned after each use. The seat, backrest and armrests are padded and finished in wipeable vinyl over a steel frame, and the legs adjust by push button so the seat can be set between 47 cm and 64 cm from the floor to suit the user or to align with the bed. Four options cover 44 cm, 52 cm and 60 cm between the armrests, with safe working loads of 150 kg, 180 kg and 205 kg respectively, in a champagne or slate finish. Overall height adjusts between 86 cm and 103 cm.

Having a toilet within a step or two of the bed shortens the journey at the time of day when it is hardest to manage, and padded upholstery makes the chair comfortable enough to sit on for as long as is needed. The lidded removable bowl keeps the process contained and discreet, and the three widths allow the chair to be matched to the user.
