The Cura1 2629 Cordless Bed Pad is a full width pressure sensing pad laid across the bed, where it senses the weight of the person and raises an alarm when they get out of bed. The pad measures 76 x 50 cm and is used with the 2719 Cordless Pad Transmitter, which inserts into the pad and sends the alert by radio to a compatible Cura1 monitor or pager, so no cable needs to run from the bed back to the monitor. It is intended for horizontal surfaces only and senses reliably for users between 30 kg and 200 kg. The pad is made from non-allergenic soft PVC that is easy to clean, and vent holes in the neck section reduce the risk of moisture entering. Cura1 engineers the pad for a 12 month operational lifespan.

The full width sensing surface covers the part of the bed where a person naturally lies, and Cura1 reports that this gives dependable detection with virtually no false alarms over the life of the pad. Keeping the system cordless removes a lead from the bedside, and the pad stays straightforward for care staff to position, clean and replace.
