The Cura1 3503 Wireless Door Contact is a two part magnetic sensor that detects when a door or window has been opened and sends a wireless signal to a receiver unit, which makes it suited to anti-wandering monitoring. The contact body mounts on the frame and the magnet on the moving door or sash, and both are fixed with the double-sided tape supplied, so no wiring or drilling is required. Transmission is on 433.92 MHz with a typical range of 50 m, although this varies with environmental conditions. A built-in call button allows the same unit to be used as a portable panic button, and an LED indicator shows when the alarm is active. The housing is durable ABS plastic, the contact measures 7.9 x 2.9 x 1.2 cm, the magnet 6 x 1.2 x 0.7 cm, and the unit weighs 28 g.

Adhesive mounting and a battery already fitted mean the contact can be put in place within a few minutes and relocated later if the situation changes, with no wiring and no trades work. The built-in call button draws a second use out of the one small device, and the published 50 m range gives a carer reasonable freedom to be elsewhere in the home.
