The Cura1 3515 Cordless Under Mattress Bed Pad is a pressure sensing pad that forms part of the Cura1 cordless falls prevention system. The pad measures 83 x 26 cm and is laid under the mattress on the centre panel of most care beds, where it senses the weight of the person lying above it and raises an alarm once that weight is removed. It is used with the 2719 Cordless Pad Transmitter, which inserts into the pad and sends the alert by radio to a compatible Cura1 monitor or pager, so the transmitter is required for the pad to work. The pad is made from non-allergenic soft PVC that is easy to clean, carries vent holes in the neck section to reduce the risk of moisture entering, and senses reliably for users between 30 kg and 200 kg. Cura1 engineers it for a 12 month operational lifespan.

Because the pad sits out of sight beneath the mattress, the person in the bed never comes into contact with it and nothing changes about how the bed looks or feels. Removing the cable between pad and monitor keeps the bedside clear, and Cura1 positions this pad as its lower cost option, which matters where several beds need covering.
