The Cura1 Universal Floor Mat Kit brings together the parts needed to set up a self-contained falls monitoring point beside a bed, a chair or a doorway. The kit pairs the 2672 Universal Dual Fold Floor Mat, which measures 119 x 60 cm, with the 2720 Universal Cordless Pad and Mat Transmitter, the 3508 LED Pager and the 3506 soft protective cover. The mat is positioned in the area of risk and raises an alarm as soon as somebody steps on it, while the 2720 transmitter carries the signal to the pager at 433 MHz over a range of up to 50 m, so no cable needs to run across the floor. The mat folds twice for storage or transport and is engineered for an 18 month operational lifespan. The pager can be programmed to monitor up to three wireless devices.

Cordless operation is the main practical gain here, because the alert travels by radio and nothing has to be run back to a monitor across a walkway. The low profile edges allow a wheelchair or a walking frame to cross the mat safely, and because the kit arrives as a matched set, setting it up in a bedroom or hallway involves very little work.
