The Cura1 2701 Standard Falls Monitor with SafeTime is an alarm unit that a corded pressure pad plugs into, so that a carer is alerted when the person being monitored gets up from a bed or chair. It accepts Premium, SafeTime and corded Universal pads through an RJ10 socket, and it can also be connected to a facility nurse call system through a normally closed or normally open port. The alarm tone is selectable, the volume is adjustable to a maximum of 108 dB at 10 cm, and the delay before the alarm sounds can be set to 0 seconds, 2 seconds or 15 minutes. The ABS housing measures 12 x 7.7 x 3.4 cm and weighs 140 g without batteries. A hanger strap, soft cover, reset key, batteries and Quick Start Guide are supplied.

The pause mode and the magnetic caregiver key work well together in shared care settings, since a carer can attend to someone without setting the alarm off, while the person being monitored cannot readily cancel it. Where a SafeTime pad is in use, the Change Pad prompt takes the guesswork out of knowing when that pad is due for replacement.
