The Curved Transfer Board is a sliding board that bridges the gap between two seated surfaces so a person can move across without standing. The arched shape follows the sweeping arc a transfer naturally takes, which keeps the body over the board through the turn rather than at its edge. In use, the board is laid with its slip-resistant pads facing down, one end placed under the user and the other on the destination surface, so it carries full body weight across the gap. The board is moulded from solid reinforced plastic that is waterproof and resists chipping, shattering and splintering, and the surface wipes clean between users. It measures 70 x 37 cm, weighs 1.95 kg and is rated to 152 kg. It suits transfers between a bed, chair, wheelchair, toilet or car seat.

Transfers are where most of the physical strain falls on both the person moving and anyone assisting, and a board that follows the turn removes the standing step from the movement altogether. The underside pads hold the board in place, and because the plastic is waterproof and wipes down it can be used in a bathroom or a car without the care an upholstered or timber board would require.
