Features
The Dysphagia Cup is a 236 mL (8 oz) green cup designed for drinking with the chin tucked towards the chest. The shape of the cup makes that position easier to hold and gives the normal swallowing mechanisms time to work, while the rim helps keep liquid from escaping at the lips and directs the drink towards the centre of the mouth. The cup also provides nose clearance, so it can be emptied without tilting the head back, which allows the chin tuck to be maintained right through to the last mouthful. The cup is suited to use after stroke and with neurological injury. It is latex free, microwave safe, and rated for institutional dishwashers to 180 degrees Fahrenheit, roughly 82 degrees Celsius.
