The Homecraft Dressing Stick is a reaching aid that helps with putting on and taking off garments that are difficult to reach, reducing the bending, twisting and stretching that dressing usually involves. It is a hardwood dowel of 1.59 cm (5/8 inch) diameter and 66 cm (26 inch) in length, with a different hook at each end. The larger vinyl coated double hook is used to pull clothing on or push it off, for example by hooking a belt loop to draw trousers up or pushing the shoulder of a jumper to take it off. The vinyl coating holds fabric gently and is snag free, which suits more delicate garments. A smaller shaped hook at the opposite end catches the edge of clothing and pulls zips and shoelace loops.

Independence in dressing often comes down to reach rather than strength, and 66 cm of extra reach closes that gap for shoulders, feet and anything near floor level. Having two differently shaped hooks means one tool covers pulling garments on, pushing them off and managing zips and laces, which is useful while recovering from injury or surgery or where range of motion is restricted.
