The Manoy Contoured Plate is a melamine dinner plate shaped to assist people who eat with one hand, or who find it difficult to pick food up with a utensil. Instead of a flat base and an even rim, the plate is oval with a sloping bottom and a high sided end, so food gathers towards the deeper edge where a fork or spoon can be pushed against the wall and loaded without portions spilling over the side. Two sizes are produced: a small plate of 22.7 x 15.9 cm weighing 200 g, and a large plate of 27.9 x 19.7 cm weighing 440 g, which allows the plate to be matched to the usual portion size. Both are dishwasher safe, although melamine is not suitable for microwave ovens. Colour is white, subject to availability.

Keeping food on the plate and getting it onto the utensil are two separate difficulties at mealtimes, and the combination of a sloping base with a raised end addresses both without the plate looking like a piece of equipment. Offering a choice of two sizes also means it can be matched to the appetite and to the room available on a tray or bedside table.
