The Monarch Power Lift Chair in the dual motor configuration is a powered lift and recline armchair with separate motors for the backrest and the legrest, which allows each to be positioned independently of the other. A hand held controller raises and lowers the backrest, raises and lowers the padded legrest, and moves the chair forward and up to assist standing, with the rise or recline motion stopping at any point as soon as the button is released. Independent control means the backrest can be reclined without raising the legs, or the legs raised while the user remains sitting upright. A seamed backrest provides additional lumbar support and a full chaise pad continues the padding along the legrest. The seat is 55 cm wide, 46 cm deep and 50 cm high, the overall width is 82 cm, and the maximum user weight is 130 kg. A magazine pocket is supplied.

Independent control of the backrest and legrest is the point of the dual motor model, since the user can raise their legs, ease the back, or do both, without waiting for someone else to adjust the chair. The powered rise assists moving from sitting to standing, and because the motion stops the moment the button is released, finding a comfortable position is straightforward.
