The Homecraft Standard Over Toilet Aid is a non folding aluminium frame that stands over a standard toilet to raise the seating height and add an armrest on each side. Sitting down and standing up then involves less bending at the hips and knees, and the arms give something solid to push up from. Push button legs set the seat height anywhere between 44 cm and 59 cm, with 40 to 55 cm of clearance over the pan, so the frame suits a range of toilet heights. The frame is built from reinforced 2.5 cm aluminium tubing and uses uncoated internal sliding legs so that water cannot enter them during adjustment. The plastic seat and lid clip off for cleaning, anti slip rubber tips help hold the frame on wet floors, and the aid is manufactured to AS/NZS 3973:2009.

For someone recovering from hip or knee surgery, or simply short of leg strength, a higher seat combined with two firm armrests can be the difference between managing the bathroom alone and needing a second person. The frame is also light at 2.7 kg without the lid, so it can be lifted aside for cleaning, and the clip off seat keeps that task straightforward.
