The Care Quip Removable Bed Rail is a powder coated steel rail that provides a fixed handhold along the side of a bed. The rail slides between the mattress and the bed base, so it can be fitted and taken out again without tools and without altering the bed itself, which makes it a practical option in a home or in a room where the arrangement may need to change. Once in place, it gives a person something solid to hold while turning over, shifting position or moving to and from the edge of the bed, and it is intended for people who need assistance with those movements. The rail stands 60 cm high and 50 cm wide, with a reach of 59 cm along the bed, so it offers a length of support rather than a single grab point.

The value here lies in how little the rail asks of the bed. There is no bracket to bolt on and no frame to replace, so it can go in where it is needed and come out again when it is not. For a person who finds rolling over or sitting up difficult, a solid handhold at the bedside turns an effortful movement into a manageable one.
