The KCare Transit 44.5 cm Shower Commode is an attendant-propelled chair used for showering and toileting, with a carer steering from behind by means of the integrated push handle. The 44.5 cm wide seat sits 55 cm from the floor on a frame measuring 52 cm wide and 89 cm deep, and the chair runs on four 12.5 cm castors that all lock, so it can be held still over the toilet or during a transfer. A three-strap backrest supports the user while leaving the back of the chair open for access, and the swing-up arms clear the sides so a sideways transfer is not obstructed. The swingaway footrest is removable and height adjustable, and the chair is built around K-Care's patented removable seats, which are ordered separately. The frame is independently tested to AS/NZS 3973:2009 and rated to a maximum user weight of 200 kg.

Side transfers are the main point of difference. With both arms swung up and a strap backrest rather than a solid one, a user can move across from a bed or wheelchair with less lifting, and a carer can reach in from either side. The four locking castors hold the chair steady during a transfer, and the removable seat system lets the fit be matched to the individual.
