The Assist-A-Tray is a couch-side support handle combined with a multi-use swivel tray, designed to help a person rise from or settle into a favourite chair, couch or lift chair. The base slides underneath the furniture feet and is adjusted to match the distance between the front and back legs, so the unit can be set up on either side of the seat and assembles without additional tools. The ergonomic handle, which adjusts between 86 cm and 102 cm, gives balance and support through the sitting and standing movement. The tray pivots and rotates a full 360 degrees and carries a cup holder and a utensil compartment, so a meal, a laptop or a drink can be brought across the lap and then swung aside. Super grip rubber pads steady the base and protect flooring.

Two needs are met by one piece of equipment: a dependable handhold for getting up, and a surface that keeps meals, drinks and devices within reach without a separate table in the room. The height and base length adjust across a wide range, so the unit can be matched to the existing chair rather than the other way around, and its furniture-style appearance suits a living room.
